Earth Day x Met Gala 2023

The yearly observance of Earth Day, which takes place all around the world on April 22nd, is intended to call attention to the obligations that we have towards the earth. The fashion business is one of the sectors that has a considerable influence on the environment, which is why it is vital to embrace practices that are environmentally friendly.

The manufacturing, distribution, and consumption of clothing that has a little negative effect on the surrounding environment and encourages social responsibility are all included in the concept of sustainable fashion. We are working hard to become one of the few e-commerce firms that can offset the carbon emissions caused by the delivery of our items from our warehouse to your front door. Because of our collaboration with EcoCart, each and every one of the packages that we send out has a positive effect on the environment. The garment sector is responsible for around 20% of worldwide wastewater and 10% of global carbon emissions. The goal of sustainable fashion is to find solutions to these problems by lowering the amount of carbon emissions caused by the manufacture of clothes and encouraging more responsible consumption practices.

Discarded Items in the Fashion World

Using materials that are kind to the environment is an essential part of practicing sustainable fashion. The cultivation of conventional cotton requires far more water and a greater number of pesticides than the cultivation of organic cotton, hemp, or bamboo. Leading standard-setters created the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) to outline internationally accepted criteria for organic textiles. Both the fabric mill and the garment manufacturer must be certified by GOTS in order for your clothing to bear the GOTS brand, which we can happily declare they are.

Waste minimisation is another essential component of environmentally responsible fashion. One method for decreasing the amount of trash produced is the creation of clothing that is designed to be long-lasting and resilient. In addition, encouraging the utilisation of recycled materials, such as recycled polyester and nylon, is a significant contributor to the reduction of waste that is produced as a result of the creation of clothes. That's why we have only used the REPREVE® (fibers' made from recycled materials) mesh fabric in our tailored jackets which require less washing than most other garments.

Ethical working conditions are another component of the fashion business that is highlighted by the concept of sustainable fashion. The elimination of unethical labour practises such as child labour, poor salaries, and unhealthy working conditions is one of the primary goals of the sustainable fashion movement. LOVE HERO is much more than simply the apparel. Clothing serves as a metaphor for human freedom of expression, community engagement, and creative expression. We recognise how fortunate we are to have this chance and we don't take our responsibilities lightly. We aim to build a group of like-minded LOVE HEROES who look for ways to help their neighbours locally and abroad via volunteer work, action-oriented campaigns, and dialogues with actual people.

Community Impact

The Met Gala was held on May 1st and the theme was Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty. Not only did they honour Lagerfeld's legacy as a creative force and his memory, but it also subtly honoured sustainability in several ways. Raul Avila, an event designer, created a contemporary installation using flowers and a great deal of recycled water bottles. Amid the overabundance of discarded clothing filling landfills, celebrities like Nicole Kidman and Gisele Bündchen chose to don outfits they had previously worn. Having said that, wearing the same outfit again is not a fashion faux pas. You should and may repeat this claim made in the interest of sustainability. Love Hero always develops innovative techniques to make worn-out clothing appear and feel brand-new.

Dua Lipa (wearing Chanel from 1992), Gisele Bündchen (wearing a sequinned dress with feather cape Chanel Haute Couture SS 2007), Nicole Kidman (wearing a pink tulle gown with feathers and sequin Chanel 2009), Naomi Campbell (wearing a pink and silver gown from Chanel SS 2010)

Naomi Campbell donned a pink and silver gown from the brand's 2010 Spring-Summer collection, while Dua Lipa wore a Chanel dress from 1992. According to this idea, clothes should be created from sustainable resources, recycled, and utilised instead of being fully thrown away. Maybe the Met Gala will choose a green theme in the future to support this objective even more.
